Apple Pro Mouse problem

Hi,

my Apple Pro Mouse has got a serios problem shortly after the one year
warranty. I think the thin USB-cable ist broken inside. Has anyone
similar problems with this device? Apple says, that they could sell me
another one. In EU there is a kind of Manufacturer warranty that is two
years long. Any chance to get a new one within these two years?

On my first G4 i had to exchange the keyboard after slightly more than a
year. All my PC-Stuff had never Hardware problems with keyboard or
mouse. I still use a cherry keyboard from 1991 (with is really heavy
duty stuff...)

regards & thx,

Christian

Put short loop in the cable, just where it exits the mouse,
then tape the other end of the loop to the side of the mouse,
thus immobilising it, to avoid intermittent contact problems.

In article < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >,

Get a wireless mouse? The old apple (adb) mice also got stuck under my
desktop/tower case. Bothersome "feature" ..

Entity Christian Westphalen spoke thus:

That mouse is actually repairable, but it's not for the faint-hearted:

Just be sure to do it before your USB wires short out and burn up.

Others have mentioned some things you can try.

If replacement should be necessary, you don't have to use Apple's
mouse (unless you really like it, of course). Any USB mouse should
work.

I've been very happy using a Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical. I paid
$20 for it.
