Logitech MX-1100 & MBP

Logitech MX-1100 & MBP

I bought a Logitech MX-1100 to use on a iMac that I plan to purchase
shortly. I decided to test it out on my 17" MacBook Pro. I put the
batteries in the mouse, and plugged the USB receiver into the MBP. The
pointer would not move. I opened system profiler using the trackpad
and the usb receiver showed up under usb section. I tried this mouse
on a windows xp computer and got the same results. So, I contacted
Newegg and got an RMA#. I am waiting for the replacement. Has anyone
experienced a problem like this with the logitech MX-1100? Also, does
USBOverdrive X work with this mouse? I have seen a lot recomendations
for it, but no one states if all of the buttons on the MX-1100 are
programable with it.

Thanks,

Alan

Have you installed the 'Logitech Controlcenter' software? If I recall
right, this controlpane is needed to configure the mouse...

Logitech Control Center 2.7
For their USB mice & keyboards.

I figured it took the crappy LCC for the buttons. It should be able to
move the pointer and have the left and right burrons without any
software in OS X. Shouldn't it?

Thanks,

Alan
