Ultra 20 BIOS RAID

Ultra 20 BIOS RAID

Does this work under Solaris 10? My quick experiment says no! Got Bad
PBR Signal, no boot part I think that means.

I'm wondering if it needs to be enabled before install but I'm backing
off a reinstall until I've consulted the experts. so I thought I'd ask
you guys if you knew any experts, hehehe!

The only thing I can find in the docs is that you need to install an
nVidia driver for XP, no mention of Solaris so going off sun's previous
record, this probably means not supported...

IIRC, HW RAID isn't (yet) supported by SOlaris in the Ultra 20. Just use
SVM and/or ZFS.

The Ultra 20 doesn't even have hardware RAID. NVraid is a pure SW solution
(the mirroring is part of the OS device driver) with some help from the
BIOS.

Oh!

Well in that case, the OP shouldn't even bother, and go the SVM/ZFS route.
