is it possible to use PCI cards designed for use in PCs in an ultra 10?
I got a symbios logic dual channel differential scsi controller which i
would like to use in my ultra 10.
Is this possible?

And the next question is: Are there any drivers for solaris? or for linux?

It generally is, but ...

... drivers are not always available, esp. for the cheaper PCI cards.
If you run Solaris 9, finding drivers can be a lot harder even, although
sometimes (often?) Solaris 8 drivers work as well.

It's not mentioned on www.sun.com/io, but you won't harm anything by
trying. Could be the symbios stuff will be recognized.

Without an openboot bios you won't be able to boot from it though.

Linux will (99% certain) support the symbios cards. No idea about
solaris support.
