How could I backup 200G data on one LTO-1 tape?

Hi,

I'm using HP Ultrium 215 to backup data with LTO-1 tape, but I can only
backup 100G data on the tape. My OS is solaris 8 and use ufsdump command. I
check the man page and get it supply several data density,
l(low),m(middle),h(high),c for compression mode, u for ultra mode. How can I
know which mode to use? I wanna backup enough data on one tape. Ask for your
help, Thanks !!!

Have a good day!

Best Regards,

Harryzhu

Well, if you backup to /dev/rmt/0cbn (say) instead of (default) /dev/rmt/0, you
will turn the compression in the drive on (if it has any). So, read the
documentation for your tape drive and man page for st(7D).
