performance monitor on Solaris 9

Post by skan » Sat, 07 Feb 2004 02:32:25

Two questions:

1. We are migrating SCO UnixWare 7 to Solaris 9. We have been using RTPM (Real
Time Performance Monitor) on UnixWare 7. Is there any similar one on Solaris 9.
I see 'prstat' which is almost same as 'top'.

2. In order to get sar data, I uncommened 'sys' file and crontab 'sys'.
Do we have to restart the box? or it will start gathering the data starting
from tomorrow morning.

Many thanks in advance
Hugh

Hugh,

Take a look at this:

http://www.yqcomputer.com/

This is a great resource when you use prstat.

Yes, I think that your data will be gathered automatically. There's no
need to restart the box.
