Accessing mySQL database using Microsoft Data Access Page front-en

Hi:

I am really new to this kind of development so any help I can get would be
very much appreciated! My problem has two parts:

1) I have a mySQL database on an IIS web server (hosted by a hosting vendor)
and a data access page created in Access that talks to the mySQL database
locally but not to the server. How can I redirect the connection call in my
Data Access page so that it uses the mySQL database? (I know it's not
looking at the server version of the database because when I try to access it
from a pc other than mine, it is unable to connect to the data. Also, I
tested using a change to a record and saw that it changed the local copy, not
the web server copy).

2) Has anyone found a security login/admin package that can secure certain
pages on my website and take care of the login/password administration
easily? The one I found does not support IIS and required php.

Thanks for any help you can give :-)

Signed: getting kinda frustrated...
