Lowell Gilbert < XXXX@XXXXX.COM > crashed Echelon writing

Stupid me, it was the 5.1 I was trying.

Will try the 4.8 hopefully it has support of Compaq WL110 too.

Hi,

I seem to have a problem installing FreeBSD whereby the message,

Error mounting /dev/acd0 on /dist: Operation not supported by device. (19)

appears. I have checked the CD-ROM which is set to primary and am using an
Apricot Pentuim 133. Not having much experiance of FreeBSD I would be
grateful of any help.

Many Thanks,
EK...

Which release? Is your CD drive detected by the kernel during the
boot process?

Hi,

I'm using FreeBSD 5.0 cd-rom as supplied with FreeBSD Unleashed. I dont
think the kernals detecting the cd-rom as on startup its not listed with the
floppy disk and hard drive. I have however changed the drive for a pioneer
dvd-rom drive, which makes no difference.

Many Thanks,
EK...
