've done some more tests today.
If I open an access database query within access 2007, and slide a column,
then save the file, that opening that query in access 2000 causes access
2000 to crash.
If I instead create a blank database, and import everything from the now
corrupted access 2000 database, it imports everything, but when you click on
the corrupted query, it disappears again, with no error report. It also
does not enter any error information in the Event log under Application nor
any other subkey.
However, here's the strange bit. If I instead of running the query (which
is just a standard select query, joining two tables), I view the design, it
works fine, though it loses the column widths.
So it appears that there's something wrong with the representation of column
widths in query design that's causing the problem.
Can anyone else duplicate this?
