Create New Database

I have a test environment set up with CRM 4.0. I will be playing around with
it by adding new users, entities, attributes, etc. At some point I want to
reset the database to the original state (create a new database in other CRM
products I have used).

What is the best way to do this? Do I have to make a Backup before I start
any changes, then Restore that later, or is there a way to do this without a
Backup?

You can backup the database after the initial installation and restore it at
a later time if you like.

Alternatively, you can just use the CRM Deployment Manager to create a new
Organization in your deployment. If you have the Professional license, you
can only have one Org at a time, so creating a new one will drop your
existing one. If you have the Enterprise license, you can have an unlimited
number of Orgs.

We have an CRM 4 Enterprise license. If we are doing development and testing
it sounds like the best method would be to create new Organizations and
delete the old Organizations that we no longer need? That would be faster
than trying to restore the database wouldn't it?

Creating new orgs is pretty quick and doesn't require any dba skills, so
it's hard to go wrong.
