crm 4.0 workflow rule

Post by nygiantswi » Wed, 25 Jun 2008 07:09:35

Hi,

I have CRM 4.0.

I created a workflow rule for Service Activity entity.
The rule will run every time a Service Activity record is created.

In the rule I have one step, which is to email a crm user.
The rule scope is Organization.
The rule is published.

However, every time I create a Service Activity, No email is sent to
the recipient.
In the system jobs, I keep eeing this, "Workflow expansion task" and
"Waiting".

thanks,
nitadmin

Well, if you are not firing any plugin at service entity create event then
you need check followings:

1) Restart your Async Service and try to execute your workflow.
2) Make sure you are not firing any plugins at service entity events, if yes
then check for plugin errors.
3) Enable CRM Server Trace and look into Async service Trace File. This will
exactly show you the error and its detail.

Hope this helps. If not do let me know!

Just remembered one more issue that can be a possibility in your case. Check
wether user/contact has assigned an email or not.

Hello,

I had the same problem and I found its solution on this link:
http://www.yqcomputer.com/

In fact, I had to set on IIS the IP address of Microsoft CRM website to "All
Unassigned" instead of the specific address that was set before.

Hope this helps.

HI,

I resolved the problem.

http://www.yqcomputer.com/

This blog article assisted me with fixing the problem.

By running this SQL update statement in SQL 2005 managment studio
Query window, I was able to reolve the Workflow problem.

USE MSCRM_CONFIG
Update DeploymentProperties
SET NVarCharColumn = 'myserver:5555'
WHERE ColumnName = 'AsyncSdkRootDomain'

thanks,
