Do a thorough check for malware, following all of the steps at one of these
Web pages.
Help with malware:
All MS-MVP Sites.

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing programs like Messenger Plus,
whose ads for malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince
you that you owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

Hello Frank,

thanks for your answer.

independent from your e-mail I already started (of course) checking my
PC.
Apart from my already installed Firewall and Virus Protection Software
I
downloaded two additional programs for Spy/Malware detection. No
details
for obvious reasons. My PC is always up-to-date with all security
fixes,
so no Spy/Malware reported.

I assume a problem with that "Genuine" Check utility, BS really.
I don't know why I'm checked every month - one check after installtion
m u s t be sufficient, maybe one time a year.
A N D it most be possible to overcome problems like I have.

Hello all,

one part of the problem is solved, see my other topic
Windows Update IE7: ActiveX blocked, no Information Bar visible - see
old topic: "Can't Find Information Bar"
http://www.yqcomputer.com/ #7515dd6da5649e3f

BUT the problem with the missing Add-ons Dialog still exists.

Greetings
Udo
