Greetings Muffman,

I can't say I've seen a situation where Windows Messenger 5.0 video capabilities don't work,
but they do in 4.7. If you just upgraded to Windows Messenger 5 and voice/video simply
doesn't work now, try using System Restore (I assume this is your own computer) and restore
back to when 4.7 was installed just to verify that it still works in 4.7. To do so, click
Start, then Help & Support, then "Undo changes to my computer using System Restore" and then
restore back to a prior day when 4.7 was installed.

Thanks for yr speedy response! maybe my question was too terse... I
have Win2k and decided tnat Win Messenger made more sense than MSN so
I d/l the latest from the MS site - build 5.0.0468 per the About
menu...) I believe I have to use ver 5.0.x on Win 2k, right?

Nowhere on that build is there an option to deploy a video connection.
Audio is OK but no video. I realise 4.7 has video ( I have XP on a
laptop and 4.7 came pre-installed. on that) so this prompted my
original question.

On a related topic, does Win Mess 5.x have the same limitations for
audio as MSN? (NAT, uPnP, etc...)

Thanks again. don't know what we'd do without you!
