Force FeedBack 2 And CFS 3

Force FeedBack 2 And CFS 3

I am having problems using my Force FeedBack 2 stick and
CFS 3. I have only used the stick before for Commanche
4, and I only used it a little as I didn't really like
the game.
The stick seems to react wildly and thrashes about. The
twist for the rudder doesn't achieve a rudder effect, it
only seems to twist the fight path slightly in the
direction you want to go and stops. When I release it,
the "plane" returns to it's original heading.
I have tried reinstalling the stick, no improvement. I
have updated CFS 3 with the Patch to 3.1.
I am running XP. The software for the stick is version
4. I find the update situation for the stick confusing.
I have Via version 5 or later USB controllers and have
downloaded the Via USB patch for the stick. I have
downloaded the swff2qfe1 patch for the stick. It tells
me that a target file is newer than the file in the
patch. I have tried continuing both ways, overwriting
the existing file and not overwriting. No difference
noted.
The first time I played this game, I've only had it a
week, the controller seemed to work fine. I can't
remember if I installed the CFS 3 patch before or after
that first time, I think I installed it before.
Is the stick compatible with XP?
Any ideas what's wrong?

I had similar results with CFS3 but found that
opening "Calibration" and doing "Test" and "Force" BEFORE
starting the sim fixed the problem. I also have a VIA USB
controller and downloaded the patch for FF2.

It almost worked. Feedback for guns disappered, rudder
still not working right.
Thanks anyways. Another Microsoft non supported item.
But they really don't care.
