Confusion - Reporting services, VS 2005, SQL Server 2005, VS 2003, SQL Server 2000

I have several VS 2003 BI projects using SQL Server 2000 reporting services.

I am now using VS 2005, but the organization has not yet converted to SQL
Server 2005 and may not in the immediate future (not my call).

Attempts to open the VS2003 BI projects in VS 2005 result in error "The
application for project ...rptproj' is not installed"

When I try to create a BI project in VS2005, Business Intelligence is not an
available project type.

What do I have to do in order to use VS2005 to manage my existing report
projects created in VS2003?
Thanks
Bill

With SQL Server 2000 reporting services, you can ONLY use VS2003 to design
report.

VS2005 itself does not have BI project, unless you installed SQL Serer 2005
client tool. That is, SQL Server2005 comes with a srip-down version of
VS2005, only used for designing report of SQL Server2005 Reporting Services.
When you install SQL Server2005 client tool, while you already have a
version of VS2005 installed, the SQL Server2005 BI tool will be merged into
the existing VS installation. Since you do not have SQL Server2005, your
VS2005 cannot be used for designing SQL Server2005 report.

Also, you cannot use SQL Server2005 report desinger for SQL Server2000
reporting services. However, you can run reports designed from SQL
Server2000 in SQL Server2005 reporting services; you can also update the
reports from SQL Server2000 to SQL Server2005 Reporting Services with VS2005
BI project.
