What about to add an option or a tool to backup Windows Live Messenger custom files?

Now that the beta stage of Windows Live Messenger is approaching to the end,
imo it would be great if WLM could be updated in order to include an option
to backup/import an entire messenger profile, including not only the contact
list, but also custom emoticons, personal pictures and custom backgrounds,
so that people who are running dual boot machines or a laptop can easily
sync and import all their custom files.
What do you guys think about it?

Wouldn't that have been better suggested during the beta instead of as it is
closing?

that's a good idea, especially for won winks, and so 'unrecoverable' stuff.

Yes I know, but although this could be a useful feature, imo during the beta
stage it's more important for the programmers to fix bugs and major problems
instead of adding this kind of things, expecially with WLM which has already
a new UI and tons of new functionalities. And, of course, this should be a
really simple task which could also be done by a free add-on downloadable
from microsoft.com :-)

Greetings,

Would be nice, but it's not going to happen. I think the partners rather like the revenue
they get from people having to "rebuy" their content.

Either way, you can use the following tool to backup this stuff (although it doesn't always
work that great with WLM):

beta emotions and other stuff. :-(

I tried that tool, too before submitting this topic, but it doesn't work for
me :-(

Interesting. I reinstalled Windows on my own desktop just a few weeks ago and it worked
(albeit I lost a few emoticons, but I can handle that -- everything else was retained).
