I found the flaw : in the html code, a <TITLE> was not properly closed (a
'<' had been inadvertantly deleted). I guess that some browsers such as
Firefox and IE 8 did manage with this mistake, while others, such as my
IE (32-bit) did not. Once the mistake had been corrected, everything
worked OK.
