Safe crash recovery with MyISAM

Safe crash recovery with MyISAM

Post by jinxidor » Fri, 20 Oct 2006 11:29:00

I am doing a multi-row INSERT ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE on a MyISAM table
in MySQL 5.0. If the server crashes half way through this query, I get
some of the rows updated, while some of the rows remain unaffected. Is
there a possible way to recover successfully from this sort of query?

1. Problem with OL2003 crashing, works with /safe, but not any /safe:

2. Word Crashes, Recovers, Crashes Again with no Recovery

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

This has happened several times now. I'm working on a Word document, when word "Unexpectedly Closes" and asks me to send an error report. Then, Word re-opens with the document recovered - yay! BUT, as soon as I go to save the recovered document, right as I hit "Save" Word unexpectedly closes again. This time when Word restarts however, there is no document recovery. What is going on?? It's really upsetting to have it close for no reason, especially when you lose work (and no matter how often you save, you always lose some work).

3. Regarding Program Crash (not System crash) file recovery

4. DB2 UDB V9.1.3, Database crash, crash recovery fail, no backup.

5. right recovery cd is wrong recovery cd is right recovery cd is........

6. Stop Error Screen/ Safe Mode Unavailable/Recovery Console

7. Windows XP will not start in Safe Mode so recovery or reinstall?

8. lost password/can't reboot from recovery cd or in safe mode

9. Vista only works in safe mode / no recovery disks

10. XP won't start; safe mode won't start; can get recovery console

11. Chkdsk safe mode and recovery console

12. CM:SF ... crash ... crash ... crash ... crash ...

13. Race condition when inserting data / MySQL 4.0+, MyISAM tables

14. Hot Backup equivalent for MyISAM tables?

15. InnoDB tables silently created as MyISAM
