Dreamweaver MX to MX 2004.. CSS Styles??

Post by AngelPet » Fri, 17 Dec 2004 05:49:56

Hi Everyone,

I have been using Dreamweaver MX for around 1 year and become quite a fan of
it.
When my computer crashed last week I thought that I would treat myself and buy
Dreamweaver MX 2004.

Well everything is alot better, except I can't seem to get my CSS styles to
work.
Is there a difference on how the CSS styles work from MX to MX 2004?
What I used to do is create the CSS, highlight what I wanted to be changed and
click on the CSS, and it would just do it.
But now it seems that it wont do that.

Any advice would be great, I need to get this site up tonight and I just can't
seen to figure it out.

Marissa

Give me an example of what you are trying to do, please.

The two are a bit different.

with MX2004 you don't apply a style by just clicking on it anymore (that
was annoying because you couldn't select a style to change it without
applying it to whatever was currently selected in design view).
Now, you must mirst click on it to select it, then click on the menu on
the top right of your CSS panel and select "apply".

There are much better ways, but this one will get the job done.

A better way would be to create the style first. Then right click on the
content's container tag on the TagSelector and apply a class or ID to cover
the style.

An even better way would be to create the style in such a way that it simply
cascades into the desired container and takes hold without doing anything
further....
