Help with my site

Post by SnakeFAM » Mon, 08 May 2006 15:46:37

Hey, how is everyone, I would appreciate it if someone could look at the site I
am doing for my church. I am having a problem with getting the right column to
extend the length of the page. I did the layout in CSS. If you have any other
suggestion it would be appreciated.

Thank you www.dwainesweet.com

not the css column issue- but a quick fix for a broken image.

the image is here:
http://www.yqcomputer.com/ %20Soarers.png

the page is looking for it here:
http://www.yqcomputer.com/
one less instance of /Index/

Should consider a file naming convention for the web files that avoids using
blank spaces.

Detailed error report:

the above will probably show up in most browsers, but the point is that
there is no blank space in a url. That's why they came up as errors in the
link checker.

*this last one is a typo probably.
the code shows this:

You got a whole bunch of errors on that page. First of all... why are
you using an xhtml doctype when you don't validate your page?
http://www.yqcomputer.com/ %3A%2F%2Fwww.dwainesweet.com%2F
that will reveal a lot of minor errors which are easy to fix.

You should not have spaces in your style sheet name... Home page.css
should be Home_page.css.

In FF your menu is collapesed... removing this would fix that...

#leftcolnav ul li a{
background-color: 869bcc;
border-bottom: 1px solid #000000;
color:#000000;
display:block;
padding: 0px 0px 0px 5px;
text-decoration: none;
height: 1px; *<<<<<< REMOVE THIS*
}

Why do you use display:block on your clearer?

You use CSS but also FONT tag?????

To have the right col go all the way to the bottom I suggest you take a
look at this http://www.yqcomputer.com/
JS solution that can do it for you. There is no such thing in CSS that
will work crossbrowser... not even in IE I think.

Post back when these errors are fixed and it will be a lot easier to
give a serious feedback.

Alan and Kim thank you for your input, I am somewhat new to CSS and am trying to get it right. I will correct the errors and post it again.

Thank you for your help.
