My organization has decided to build the next version of our product's
user interface using Flash instead of Visual C++. We have a graphic
designer and several developers who understand the basics of Flash and
Actionscript. Are there any resources, books, tutorials, etc. that
can guide us in building a somewhat complex, industrial strength Flash
application that is reliable, reusable, testable, and maintable? For
example, how to organize objects, clips and code, so that several
developers can work on separate pieces.

before you start . make sure you understand that actionscript is open for all
to inspect (reverse engineer) in your product .. see other threads on
impossibility of protecting actionscript.

You can't. .. so think through your software protection strategy.

regarding your question on collaborative software development ... out of
curiosity I've just searched this forum to see if there is any reference to
Groove collaborative networking for Flash actionscript development ..

none .. so this might be a first .. and unproven !

Let us know if you have any specific questions.

Also break down your Flash files in small SWF files and use the LOADMOVIE
command to load them into the main standalone projector.
