WAV Sound file in Movie doesn't play when play button is released

:disgust;

i just cannot get my wav file sound to play in my movie.

the movie has a wav file on its own layer...and then a play button on its own
layer, and finally a stop button on its own layer......i have tried everything
i know to do, and the stupid sound just won't play!!!!!!!!!

HELP!

Do you have enough frames to match the length of the sound file? It
won't play in just a single frame. Another way is to use attachSound
instead of actually dragging the sound file to the timeline.

Do the following: 1) Right click on the sound file in your library and choose
linkage from the menu. 2) Make sure the 'Export for Actionscript' and 'Export
in first frame are selected. 3) Give your sound file an Identifier name (ie:
soulLoop) 4) Place the following code on a the first frame of your timeline:
mySound = new Sound(); startButtonInstanceName.onRelease = function () {
mySound.attachSound('soulLoop'); mySound.start(0); }
stopButtonInstanceName.onRelease = function() { mySound.stop('soulLoop');
//or you could simpy do stopAllSounds() }
