rotate a crop

Post by DSSSA » Sat, 14 Jul 2007 23:11:40

I have scanned an image and unfortunately my alignment is not square - so before I need to crop, I want to rotate the crop marks. How does one do this in Fireworks? Thx!

Don't have that functionality in FW so you would have to rotate the
image first then crop.

Thanks for the response. Guess we are looking at a feature request here!

Appreciate it.

no not really, as the image will be on a square format: even if you
could crop at a slight rotation the resulting total image would still be
exactly square/rectangular. rotate your scan first like in any other
program ;)

dave,

actually in Photoshop you can drag out the Crop Tool and before
performing the crop, rotate it to line up with horizontal or vertical
line then crop. The result is that you rotate AND crop in one operation.

I think DSSAU was thinking of this. It would be a nice feature to see in
Fireworks.

One could also use Bridge for the crop and rotate which in general is
non destructive when done via Camera Raw.

Yes, it was a nice addition to, I believe, CS2.
