Trouble with database access: can't edit record, just view it

Hallo!

I use DWMX 6.1 and use ASP VBSCRIPT files to access a MS Access 2000
database. Initially I was able to edit the records. Then I had to add more
fields in the database. I can't edit any record now. I try to insert record
and I get the this error message:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access 97 Driver] Operation must use an
updateable query.

Eingabe.asp, line 115

here is a copy of that part:

line
110 If (Not MM_abortEdit) Then
111 ' execute the insert
112 Set MM_editCmd = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Command")
113 MM_editCmd.ActiveConnection = MM_editConnection
114 MM_editCmd.CommandText = MM_editQuery
115 MM_editCmd.Execute
116 MM_editCmd.ActiveConnection.Close
117
118 If (MM_editRedirectUrl <> "") Then
119 Response.Redirect(MM_editRedirectUrl)
120 End If
121 End If

I'm pretty sure I've set up my odbc connections properly, I test the
connection in DWMX and
it connects successfully. When I view my site files, I'm able to see my
access database file.

I tried rewriting the ASP-files, using a new connection, but still not able
to edit any record.
Anyone has a clue what I am missing? Help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Check the priveledge levels in the folders

At the same level as the db or a level above there will be a folder called _private

The user attempting to update the db must have the correct security access in this folder.
