Absolute URL on publish / relative URL on creation.

Lets start with the basics. I have a site on my C: drive /newsite/

so C:\newsite\index.html

When i code inside index.html I want to use relative URL's to define my
graphics. ie:

<img src = "images/myimage.gif">

when i pubish this to the internet and its running on a website I want the
URLs to be Absolute.

<img src = " http://www.yqcomputer.com/ ">

if i write the code absolute, when I make new pages the images show up as ?
because they are either a) not uploaded to the internet yet, therefore pulling
a image from www.mysite.com doesn't work because there is no image there...

or b) i have to upload the image everytime i wanna preview it otherwise it
will pull the old image that I uploaded before.

when i used dreamweaver 8 i SWEAR that i wrote the URLS absolute inside the
code and if it didn't find the URL online it would revert to relative URL for
testing purposes... now that I use CS3 it doesn't display the image and it
shows a ?.

is there a way to work with relative URLS and only certain folders or certain
pages publish with absolute URL's on all images and links? (good for HTML
emails which happen to be stored online).

any help???

Try adding the site's address to the Local site definition pane - under Http
address.

and in V8 it worked. now in version CS3 it has somehow changed.

I literally quit 8, and opened CS3 and it just opened the EXACT same site,
same settings, same test server, same EVERYTHING.. and it does not work. hands
down, 8 works, CS3 has changed the internal code on how it handles remote URL's
written in the code.

i type http://www.yqcomputer.com/
inside the code of my HTML and it PULLS the graphic from the web.. ie:
downloads the preview image.

before CS3 if i typed that out, it would just goto my C:/mysite/ folder and
pull the image there.. EVEN 100% absolute URL... booo :(
