I think he is referring to the language.

Although Delphi is definitely Pascal based, Pascal is not Delphi and visa
versa.

I am not overly fond of Eclipse either. It is OK, but finding plug-ins that
work as advertised, is an adventure.

I much prefer NetBeans over Eclipse.

Well Java is my basic Programming environment. But NetBeans actually has
C/C++ Plugins as well, targeted for Open VMS.

I do not know what type of C/C++ development you are doing, but if for
Unix/Linux, I would look at KDevelop. For Windows, I do not know anything
better than Boland C++ Builder, overall (of Course I think MFC sucks).

WxWorkshop is more of RAD XPlatform C/C++ IDE that requires the WxWidgets
to be installed.

I don't understand that statement: Delphi is an IDE.

I would.

Same here! I have to use Eclipse one day a week for a project and I really
wish I did not have to! :(

I don't know anything about NetBeans, but from what I have seen on their
website, it's only for Java, is it not? If so, that would explain: I do C++
with Eclipse...

No, Delphi is not just an IDE. Delphi is a language + a framework + an IDE.
All in a single product named Delphi.

JBuilder in contrast is just an IDE (language and frameworks are owned by
Sun)
Delphi used with C#, Winforms or ASP is just an IDE.
