service:

Uses Synapse. Comments and improvements welcome.

Amazon's Simple Storage Service. In essence it lets you read and write files
to web storage programmatically. The files themselves are located on
Amazon's servers. The service is excellent value, with modest charges for
data traffic and storage.

A neat feature is that all files are urls, so you can email links or
integrate into your web site. There's a permission system so that you can
make files private, world-readable, or readable by specific individuals.

Another advantage is no limit on storage space.

Trouble is, I'm not really interested in ebay web services. I think Amazon
S3 is great though, and the new Elastic Compute Cluster is really
interesting too.

The elastic HUH? What? Where do you get this stuff Tim? Do you surf the web
professionally or what?

You just keep reading all those magazines and report your findings here.
Thanks.

It's Cloud not Cluster, sorry about that. Though you can use it as a
cluster.
