Hi,

Any major changes to custom component structures? I've just managed to convert all my components to the "way of thinking" for RB 9 (popup menus, designers etc) and won't want to that all again in a hurry!!

ow

2 months after release of BDS2006 we get a version of RB that will work with
it, and how many years after the release of XP, we get theme support and all
for only $250 for a single Enterprise upgrade.

Fast Report here I come.

I am afraid that the enterprise upgrade is $399 and not $250.

Every time I think this I go to the support forums for Fast-report and look
at the response times, quality of the response etc., then for a good laugh I
go to the http support forums and select the Fast Report Server support
forum ( http://www.yqcomputer.com/ ). After
that the feeling has gone away and business is as usual.

regards,
Martin

To be fair to FastReport, their newsgroups are peer support groups. For
official support you need to log a ticket on their site. I have not had
poor responses when logging a ticket but have had unanswered questions on
the newsgroups. I own both RB 9 and FR 3. People often forget to what
extent a customer will cut off their own nose if they feel they are being
shafted by a supplier.

For RB 10, the component popup menus have changed - but this likely will not
affect your components at all. The ancestor class that you are descending
from TppComponentPopupMenu or one of its descendants is still the same.

jump if you will. To Digital Metaphors I have had ReportBuilder since it was
first created--over 10 years ag-- and have never had to rewrite my reports.
I've always learned a lot from reading the code structure behind
ReportBuilder. They've been there a long time and I anticipate that to
continue to be true.

I agree. I am also a happy ReportBuilder user and have been for a long
time.
