GPS component and simulator suitable for BCB development?

Hi

We are looking at developing an application that will be integrated with
GPS. The system will take some decision based on distances from certain
points, and may optionally also be showing progress on maps. Ease of
distance calculations would be nice.

Are there any robust GPS components that does a lot of the dirty work, when
NMEA GPS is connected to serial port?

Also it would be nice to know if there are any VCL-based simulators that
will create virtual serial ports while developing. - It must be possible to
setup a virtual root and simulate that route.

Anyone with experience ( good and bad ) ?

Hi,
I have some code that may work for you. Please contact me off list at
my home email address ( rgrabau at speakeasy dot net ). I don't have
a component, but I have a working NEMA (partial) data extractor.

I also have some code. I've integrated a Garmin GPS with 2D and also 3D maps
to allow driving around with 3D map display in real time. see
www.skippingmouse.co.uk for ideas, and you can email me at
