Will service paks provided by Borland for BCBX update all the software that comes with BCBX including the then-latest Gnu and Intel stuff for the compilers and other stuff from them that come with BCBX?

I'm pretty sure that toolset definitions, if needed to, will be updated.
I'm less certain that GCC (it's MinGW) will be updated, as that's
freely available. Intel - don't really know.

Why do you relate "MinGW will be updated" with "is freely available"?
I'm sure you are not suggesting that Borland will support MinGW.

MinGW will be updated as long as there are folks updating MinGW. I'm
pretty sure that the current MinGW maintainers will be happy of
receiving funding from Borland, and thus ensuring that MinGW will be
suported on the future.

Intel releases an update every month or so for its compiler. If CBX
comes with a license for Intel (not a trial or an unsupported version)
people should reconsider its gripes about the pricing, or request that
Intel shall be removed from the distribution. The Intel compiler costs
USA$ ~400 per license, for each platform.

No - I'm suggesting the opposite: because MinGW is freely available,
it's less likely that Borland will put out patches for it.

Yes, I looked at this yesterday. Each compiler is $399, each version of
the maths library is $199. Thats ~$1200 of Intel software bundled with
the professional version alone. IIRC, VTune is over $1000 which comes
with the enterprise edition. So looking at it that way, the pricing
isn't that high. But until we can move from VCL, it will be hard to
take advantage of these bundled extras.

Thanks
