interbase server, guardian, W2K

I've just installed ZoneAlarm on my W2K box after a short but memorable
encounter with msblast.

Looking at the ZoneAlarm logs, I noticed that an interbase server has
been started on the W2K PC. Going on to look at the application logs, I
saw this:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: InterBase Guardian
Event Category: None
Event ID: 251
Date: 28/09/2003
Time: 19:28:15
User: N/A
Computer: MALTA
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 251 ) in Source ( InterBase Guardian )
cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry
information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote
computer. The following information is part of the event: Server
Started: Guardian starting: D:\Program Files\Borland\InterBase\bin\ibser
ver.exe.

Anyone know what's going on here?

Old problem - there is just no text to go with the event to
say that it has actually started OK.

I'm not clear why this server is being started at all, or whether I need
it.

Probably because at some point you installed Interbase server onto your
machine and have it set to auto-start at machine bootup perhaps? :-)

Probably :-)

I expect I ticked the wrong box when I installed BCB6.
