Incorrect GMT offset when sending mail

Incorrect GMT offset when sending mail

Post by Michae » Fri, 11 Jan 2008 12:12:36

Hi,

Not a big issue, but would like to solve.

I create an email using tIdMessage and the Date and Time is correct but the
GMT offset is incorrect (always set to +0000). This happens irrespective of
whether I set "Date" or do not set "Date" or set "UseNowForDate" to true.

This is not a big problem because when the receipent receives the email the
date and time appear correct in Outlook Express however if the receipent
clicks "Reply" then the date and time (in the original header in email body)
becomes incorrect. This only becomes a problem when later tracking when
emails were received/sent.

Also in programs like MailWasher the time is incorrect.

Can I somehow set this GMT offset to the correct offset?

Thanks,

Michael.

Which version of Indy are you actually using? Older releases did have GMT
issues that have already been fixed.

Then you are likely using one of those older buggy releases and should
upgrade.

Version?
Not sure how to look this one up but in the "Help" > "Contents" > "Internet
Direct (Indy) 10" it gives a version of 10.1.1.
I am using Delphi for Win32 Version 11.0.2709.7128

If I do need to upgrade, how do I do this, via the Indy website?

Thanks,

Michael.

Right-click on any Indy component in the Form Designer.

I wouldn't trust that. There's no way to know if that is up-to-date.

Yes. Download the 10.2.3 development snapshot. There have been plenty of
discussions in Borland's and Indy's newsgroups regarding how to install it.
