Yes,You can!

If you use WinXP, You can put the image to the special directory. and set
the screen saver.

You can write a program,too!

This is getting a little off-topic, but:
Put the picture into any directory
All pictures in that directory will be used
Right-click on Windows desktop
Choose Screen Saver tab
Use combobox to choose "My Pictures Slideshow"
Click "Settings" button and select the directory

- Comile your screensaver and add the images as resources (but
I guess you want to make an application that can make .scr files)
- Make your .scr file and design it to use a resource .dll for
its images. But you have to distribute 2 files (.scr and .dll)
- Make a template .scr file that uses it's own resource images and
have your program create new .scr files from your template by
changeing/adding resource images to it.

Good luck,
Herre

There are some very handy (but basic) screensaver tutorials on the web
to get you started.

Try
http://www.yqcomputer.com/
or
http://www.yqcomputer.com/ ~cityzoo/scrnsavr.html

To load most of the registered image formats in Windows, use
TOleGraphic. Check out TOleGraphic in the helpfile if you have any
trouble....

See the follow piece of code as an example.

function LoadOLEGraphic(Filename: string; Image: TImage): boolean;
var
fs : TFileStream;
oleGraphic : TGraphic;
begin
oleGraphic := nil;
fs := TFileStream.Create (Filename, fmOpenRead);
try
oleGraphic := TOleGraphic.Create;
try
oleGraphic.LoadFromStream(fs);
Image.Picture.Assign(oleGraphic);
Result := true;
except
Result := false;
end;
finally
fs.Free;
oleGraphic.Free
end
end;

Hope this helps.

Use AquaSoft ScreenShow ( http://www.yqcomputer.com/ ). It creates a
standalone .scr from a list of files. Together with DiaShow XP five (
http://www.yqcomputer.com/ ) you can create very impressive animated
slide show screensavers.
