Guidance on Rubber-sheeting or polinomial transformation?

Hi i'm looking for source code or and easy way to create ***
sheeting algorithm also known as polinomial transformation or warping
for images.

This is very used in GIS (Geographic Informtion system) application to
fit images taken by cameras to project them to real world cordinates.


This is based in a set of Ground control points so thre will be always
a set of cartesian x,y point in the bitmap corresponding to an X,Y
point in lat/lon or other kind of coordinates. so a polinomial
equation si generated depending on the number fo control points.

I dont' know toow much of algebra so i dont' know the meaning of some
symbols, so i wa slooking if there is a good starting point of
documentation or source code in pasacal for creating such routine.

Sounds like a thing called b-splines. I would recommend to search the
internet or look up a book, and search for the terms b-splines,
quadratic/cubic splines, nurbs, bezier curves and surfaces (and I probaby
forgot some).

As for transformation perhaps piecewise polynomial transforms would work
too, although you might see some gradient change along the lines connecting
the control points.
