Image for a Non-Visual Component

Image for a Non-Visual Component

I want to add an image to a non-visual component that get's
displayed on the form at design time (and not run time). An
example would be any of the dialogs.

I guess the answer is somewhere in the help but I can't find it.

The only image that non-visual components display is their Component Palette
icon. You don't need to do anything yourself to get that icon to appear on
the form at design-time, the IDE already handles that automatically.

Hmmm. What I'm getting is a rectangle of dashed lines that look
exactly like a TImage when it's first dropped on the form.

Sounds like you derived your component from TGraphicControl or
TCustomControl perhaps? If so, then you made a *visual* component, not a
*non-visual* one. Non-visual component derive from TComponent directly.
Anything that derives from TControl upwards becomes a visual component.

Yes I did!!

That's easy enough to fix. Thanks again.
