I have two data tables one containing 20000 records ie Table A and other
about 5000 records ie Table B, both the tables have many common fields, I
want to fire a query based on one common field in both the tables say X, and
compare that field in both the tables, if the X field in Table B matches X
field in Table A , then I want to insert Y field from Table A as a new field
in table B.

Is is possible to fire such query using MS Access ?

Urgent replies will be highly appreciated.

This is a bit abstract, and hard to follow. Can you provide a real-world
example?

By the way, if you already have the data in TableA, and can join the two
tables, why do you feel you need to put the field into Table B?
