D6 Ent.

Having a client dataset (master-details) iterating through records and save
each record in a file either (dfBinary/dfXML) format.
Something like:

with clientdataset1 do
begin
first;
while not eof() do
begin
save current record in file
next
end;
end;

SaveToFile always saves the entire contents of the CDS. You could copy
each record to another CDS, save the file then empty the second CDS.
Perhaps if you explain what you are trying to accomplish someone will
have a better idea.

How to do this

Thanks,

What i am trying to achieve is:
1. the client program sends xml data packet (master->details) over SOAP to
server.
2. the server iterates through this packet and copies the record into some
folders in the same format as it recieves them. this is because other
applilcation requires it to in that format. I have a stand-alone
TClientData on server side which upon recieve of the XML packet the server
assigns its .XMLDATA to the recived packet.

given the above scenario will I be able to do this using what you suggest.
