how to upgrading from win 98 to win 98 se

Hi,
I have a computer with win98 on and need to upgrade to
win98se. I have the full version of win98se. Do I need to
format first or can I just load the cd. Will it just
override everthing? I was hoping to just put the cd in and
have it just reinstall over the top of the regular win98.
Thanks for any help supplied.

If it is a true "Full" version it will do the upgrade just fine. If it's an
"OEM" version it probably will not since it's designed to install on an
empty hard drive.

and

Put it in and install over the top. You shouldn't lose any
data, but it always wise to back up at least your most
important data(copying it to a cd will suffice).

Be sure to visit Windows update after completing the
installation.

If it's a full, retail version, it will upgrade your existing setup.
If it's an OEM disk, it will want to install only on a disk that
doesn't already have an OS installed, and will not want to upgrade an
existing installation. You may be able to get around this, look here:
