I want to create a virtual pc for windows 2000, but when i do it says Reboot
or select proper boot device
or insert boot media in selected boot device. All my computers had their
operating systems pre-installed so i don't have a boot disk. Can someone help
please?!

You need an operating system cd or other means of installation. The license
has to be one that is not in use on any computer.

When you create a virtual machine and a virtual disk, you have a setup
similar to a brand-new physical machine. There is very little you can do
with it until you install an operating system.

Search for 'physical disk' in this forum.
You can convert your machine into virual machine using 3rd party software
(Acronis)

However, if it is a preinstalled Windows then the license does not permit
transfer to a new machine, even a virtual one.

This is what I did: I put the OS disk (Windows 2003 Server) in the CD drive, then start up the VPC, and create a new VPC. On the VPC client menu select CD, then "Use Physical Drive ...." and select the drive the OS disk is in. Then turn off the VPC then restart it and it should automatically boot from the CD.
