using EW, XP and Firefox

I also have this XP icon I made and would like to be able to click on it and
have it take me to my EW web page.

My Firefox icon has "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
in url address box and takes me right to Firefox.

If I drag icon or favicon in address bar of my web site and insert url into
properties box of icon while it will take me to my site there is a screen
popping up saying I typed in wrong address and then a second or two i get to
web page.

With firefox icon no hesitation.

What has to go in desktops icon box to take me directly to my site or any
site I have in box for that icon.

thanks.

You could create a .URL file and place that on your desktop.

Create a text file called test.url and open it in Notepad.
Inside of the file place this text (between the lines)
--------------------------------------
[InternetShortcut]
URL= http://www.yqcomputer.com/
--------------------------------------

Save the file and it should open in your default browser.
