Access to Axapta Knowledge Base for all Axapta customers

Post by SGVsbXV0IF » Thu, 04 May 2006 16:46:01

We are using Axapta and have a valid maintenance contract for it. But still
we are not allowed to view the Axapta Knowledge Base. On some fixlistst, e.g.
for the kernel rollup, some knowledge base numbers are shown but we as an
Axapta customer cannot view it.

Please Microsoft: as European customers, we cannot have a direct support
contract for Axapta with Microsoft and therefore we cannot get access to
CustomerSource. But as we have a maintenance contract with Microsoft, we
should at least see the Knowledge Base so we can see if there are any errors
corrected that we also have.

Access to Axapta Knowledge Base for all Axapta customers

Dear rene,
nice joke from you. How should I make product feedback, when this site is in
Customersource and I do not get access to it????

To clear things up for you: only US customers of Axapta can get access to
CustomerSource, that's what Microsoft tells me. As we are in Europe, I do not
get access, as in Europe, we cannot have a direct support contract with
Microsoft and therefore we do not get access to Customersource.

I'm sorry Helmut.. I did not notice that it was a link to Patrner / Customer
source.

What about your Dynamics Partner. Normally the partner should provide you
with all info and updates available.

Do you work with a partner and have a support contract? This is how I
usually work.

Access to Axapta Knowledge Base for all Axapta customers

'm not sure how many non US users actually realise the significance of
CustomerSource and what they are missing. CustomerSource is an award winning
support site that US users of Dynamics products are allowed to access as a
means to support their system. Its tough luck if you buy Dynamics anywhere
else in the world as Microsoft will not give you access - for no good reason
that I can understand.

Only Microsoft could get away with this! I've never seen this with any other
ERP system and it represents a MAJOR disadvantage for Dynamics that they
don't tell you when they sell you the system.

All non US users, who pay for maintenance, should lobby their partners and
Microsoft to get this changed now - its simply unfair to treat customers this
way.

Same thing for Australia, no access, also here in Australia there is very,
very, very limited training, not even once a year, once every now and again.

I would think that access to this, would be great benefit to users, which is
*** if only US customers can access.......

Access to Axapta Knowledge Base for all Axapta customers

Whilst I agree that customers should be allowed access to Partnersource
(and I'll let them know this next time I speak to them) you're really
not missing out on much with regard to the Knowledgebase.

I've been supporting Axapta for nearly a year now and can count the
number times I've got a solution from there on one finger, also the
solution provided in that case wasn't even the best one

The majority of the time your partner will know your system much better
than M$ will (especially if they implemented it)
