"Your CD Key cannot be validated" - AOM

Hello! I have been receiving the error "Your CD Key cannot currently be
validated. Please wait a few minutes and try again." I have followed
Microsoft's list to stop this from happening but nothing has helped. I am
using the product key that came with AOM (new) that I have only ever
installed on this computer and this is my first attempt to access ESO. Any
ideas?

Thanks!

What other games did you ever install/uninstall on that particular system?
It doesn't really 'Ring Any Bells' with me, but it could sound like a copy
protection 'malladie'?

Also, clean your disc - clean the drive - if your CD is (are?) IDE/ATA, try
swapping or re-seat the flat-cables - if HD is SATA, definitly re-seat the
SATA cables and/or buy a set of better quality.

Is this isolated to 'AOM'? What is AOM, anyhow?

Is this a new PC - what OS?

Tony. . .

AOM = Age of Mythology (sorry)

I'm operating on Windows XP. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling and cleaning
the disc and drive with no luck.

Swapping cables? It's all internal..

I had this after a reinstall.

I rang MS. At first I got a recorded set of instructions which didn't work
for me; but when I finally got through to a human I was up and running in
five minutes.
