In-flight Airport ID Add-on

In-flight Airport ID Add-on

Post by rfree » Wed, 30 Nov 2005 13:52:18

Two or three years ago on one of the Flt Sim websites I saw an add-on
advertised
that displayed the name of the airports as you approached them or flew over
them.
Does anyone know where I might be able to order such an add-on??? Thank
you.

Is this what you were looking for?

Abacus - EZ-VFR - the simplest way to find your airport
http://www.yqcomputer.com/

Among the abundance of data inside of Flight Simulator are the names
and locations of the 20,000+ airport for FS2004 & FS2002. Wouldn't it
be cool if you could see where these airports are located as you fly
over the scenery?

With EZ-VFR you can!

Simplistic Configuration

Normally, EZ-VFR displays the airport name, distance and bearing from
your current position for all airports within a 30 NM radius.

You can also choose to display the airport ID, true bearing and
elevation if you'd like. Other than this data, that's all you'll need.

A big thank you, Shadow!!! The Abacus EZ-VFR was just what I was looking
for.
Works great. I guess I should have waited for the next edition of FS before
buying it.
I don't suppose there is anyway of transfering an add-on from one edition to
another ????
Thanks again.

Abacus may or may not update the EZ-VFR for FS10 (FS2006?) or they may
design a whole new program. We won't know until FS10 is released, will
we? I learned long ago never to wait to enjoy anything as the wait may
not be worth the waste of enjoying ones short enough time in this
life. You can always go for FS10, and if Abacus doesn't update EZ-VFR,
install you copy for FS9 (FS1004) and see if it will work anyway. Some
items designed for FS8 (FS002) work fine with FS9, then again some
don't. Backward compatibility however is another thing all together!

Glad I could help.

Another group you might find handy for flight sim information is
"alt.games.microsoft.flight-sim" if your server carries it.
A lot of good people with excellent information are always available
to answer questions related to MS Flight Sim.
