Sidewinder Precision Pro and Windows XP

Sidewinder Precision Pro and Windows XP

Post by Kevi » Wed, 31 Dec 2003 07:27:48

Does anyone have a clue re: the ability to use the
Sidwinder joystick with XP. Have 2 new computers with XP
home edition, a business laptop with XP office and just
received Flight Simulator 2004.

It appears at first glance that my purchase a couple
years ago of the Microsoft Precision Pro may have been a
waste of money but am hoping to be able to utilize this
joystick with my new FS 2004.

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kev

Why can't I use my Sidewinder joystick in FS9? It works fine with other
programs...
After the installation of FS9 go into the Windows Device Manager, find the
Sidewinder and update the driver: choose Sidewinder (auto detect)

Microsoft in its quest for more bucks decided to make the
Sidewinder 1 joystick unusable on XP so you would have to
buy the Sidewinder 2 joystick.

Now they've stopped selling the FF2.

Brad,
completely disagree, my FF first gen.
is working perfectly either on Win200 or XP
pro or home ed.
the problems comes from mobo with included
sound /game port

My reference is to the Precision Pro joystick, not the FF joystick.
