I just upgraded my computer with a new processor and
video card. Reloaded F.S. 2004 and now all I get is a
request to install the Disk #4 and restart App. Please
help I want to get this working again.

I have the disk in the drive, this isn't the first
compujter I have used this program on. I just loaded F.S.
onto this new Xp computer and when try to start the
program all it does is ask for the disk to be installed
in the drive. It is already there and it is the same
drive that I used to load the software. I have not been
able to find any fix for this or at least one that has
worked.

Did the drive letter of your cd-rom changed? That might be the problem.

anonymous,
That's quite a bit more info than you originally gave. In some cases the CD ROM can't read the copy protection scheme
employed by FS9.

Brand new processor, Athlon 2600 running at 1.9 G, 512
Meg Ram, transfered old hard drives from old machin when
I upgraded and reformated and installed Windows XP. Now
that I am reloading all the programs I USED before on the
98 machine. The Flight Simulator 2004 will not
run. "Insert FS2004 Disk #4, then restart application" is
the message I get every time. I have tried everything I
can find online in newsgroups and support areas. It is
nice to get information about what might be the problem
but I would rather hear a solution before I throw these
disks out the window and forget about this program. It
worked okay on my 98 machine but I upgraded it becasue
FS2004 ran slow on it, now it won't run at all. It copies
and loaded okay. I am missing the FS9 folder and the
FS9.cfg file. There are a few things missing in certian
folders that from online info, I think should be there. I
am giving up, this sucks.

I feel your pain. Same problem: installed it in WIN XP PC. INstallation went
ok but now the system is asking to insert the cd#4 into the "D:" drive and
re-start the game. However, the CD IS ALREADY THERE already in the "D:"
drive. I even RE-NAMED the CD-ROM drive as "D:" so it is logically right next
"after" the drive "C:" and re-installed the game but it did not help. Can
anybody help?

Spud, if you hear anything pls copy to my e-mail, Thanx!

Check the FAQ below, there seems to be compatibility problems with the
copy-protection check...

Did you ever get FS 2004 working? I have the same exact problem you
described. I have tried everything and still does not work.

Please e-mail me at XXXX@XXXXX.COM

Thank you!
