Brush applied as Material to GeometryModel3D: Brush gets flipped

Hi there,

This may have already been answered in these forums, but I couldn't find
anything by searching. Forgive me it's already been dealt with.

I've created a flat plane in XAML, and then using the GUI of Blend, I
took a gif, turned it into an image brush and then went to the materials
panel for my flat plane and applied the image brush as a material for the 3D
object.

All fine and good, but I got some unexpected results from the materials.
Plane old "Material" would take my brush and flip and reverse it, making it
upside down and mirror imaged. I could rotate my model and get the image
right side up again, but I couldn't deal with the mirror.

However, if I use "Back Material", the image showed up as expected.

Maybe there's something about brushes, materials and 3D objects that I
don't understand yet, but this seems to be the exact opposite behaviour of
what I would expect.

What am I missing?

Cheers,
Stephen Scholtz

This is due to the texture co-ordinates that you specified on your model.
The easiest way to see how this works is to insert your image into the
scene, then go to Tools->Make Image 3D, which will turn it into a plane with
a wrapped Viewport for you.

Basically the texture co-ordinates determine how the material is applied to
the geometry.
