IIS Service (WWW) started but cannot Get sites!

Post by TmVjaXAgVE » Sat, 30 Jun 2007 18:22:04

Our Web Edition IIS Servers (3 Servers) host aprox. 150 sites. Somedays one
of 3 servers cannot Serve sites. I mean it listens port 80 and when we check
"telnet IIS_Server_IP 80" and traceting Network Packets 3-way hand-shaking
(SYN, SYN-ACK, ACK) works fine but then suddenly IIS_Server sends a RESET
(RST) packet then connection is terminated. I tried lots of thins for example
Restarting all IIS related services (like IIS Admin, WWW, etc.) but doesnt
work. I also removed URLSCAN ISAPI filter then restarting WWW service but
doesnt work. When I restart the IIS Server then it works again..
What should our problem be??
Please Help me!
Have a Nice Days!

Hi,

Please look in the httperr.log file on your IIS server. Sounds like http.sys
is dropping the connection for some reason.

Cheers
Ken

Thanks Ken. It's true. When I looked at httperr.log files I saw lots of
"_Connections_Refused" error, and I searched then I found that when Nonpaged
Pool Size of the System is less then some value I dont remember (90MB or
something else), the Http.sys drops the packets. Then I deeply search whick
kernel dirvers has a memory leak or something else, with Windows Support
Tools' poolmon.exe and I didnt found anythings. And Kernel Drivers id's (tag)
are not very userfriendly names. Nevermind.
Thanks for your response..
But our problem some times occurs. And I am bored with such a nusty
searching..
I just restart the servers as usual on Windows platform. But I know this is
not fault of MS but its very hard to find memory leaking problem of kernel
drivers.
Nice Days..
