How do I get rid of this text in the About box of IE6 SP1 in W2K Pro SP4?

Custom builds of IE created with IEAK will have "This is a customized version of Internet Explorer" on the About Internet
Explorer dialog box along with the letters CO, IC or IS at the end of the version number to let people know this is a
customized version of IE. I know of no way to remove these from the About Internet Explorer dialog as long as a
customized version of IE that was created with IEAK is installed.

The only way I know to remove it is to uninstall the customized build and install the retail build from the Microsoft web site,
http:\\www.microsoft.com.

Thanks Bill. I have in fact managed to get rid of the text by searching for
that string in the registry and simply deleting it from the key it was
assigned to. It works.

BTW - What does IEAK stand for? I know it's in the name of the group as
well but I don't know what it means. I was wondering if I was in the right
place to be asking these questions when I saw the IEAK suffix.

Thanks

Internet Explorer Administration Kit

This lovely piece of software allows you to create your own copy of IE to
distribute, provided you get the appropriate license from Microsoft.

Technically, for plain old IE issues, this isn't really the place, but I am
sure someone here will help you with your problems if you need it.

Have a nice day. --BZ

Okay, thanks for that. I would rather be asking these questions in the
correct place. Can you please tell me which group that is?
