When using a .pst file as your information store, for old versions of
Outlook you could have up to 16,383 items within a folder and 16,383
folders per file. The large table option provided in later versions
(and preset in the latest versions) allow up to about 65,535 items per
folder and about 65,535 folders per file. There is a 2 GB limit on the
size of the .pst file.
I don't know what the maximums are for Outlook Express but it ain't no
piddly 200. So what "self-professed wizard" was telling you could only
have 200 items in a folder? If you are using Exchange, different limits
apply. Your mail admin might've made your mailbox disk quota so puny as
to make e-mail an almost useless communications medium.
