Hello,

I was looking for information that would directly compare the
differences of core funcationlity between IE for Windows (version
5.5/6) and MACS (5.2.3)
Are there any security differences etc?

Security is also a whole different ballgame. MS has huge security
issues, and Mac has nothing to really speak of.

MS IE 5.2.3 for the Mac is no longer being developed. Microsoft has
also admitted that IE 5.2.3 has a java security bug. (Look at their
FAQ). To my knowledge, MS has not fixed it.

I would not be using MS IE as your man broswer. Use Safari, Firefox or
Camino.

But there may be a site or two where IE will only work. (i.e. Some web
sites do NOT use the internationals standards for HTML but use some of
the weird IE HTML that is not in any universally accepted standards).
So you might want IE 5.2.3 for these sites ot just boycott them as I
do. Also send the web master a note encouraging him to use HTML that
conforms to the standards.
